The hidden faculty of the Catskills

You have something worth teaching.

Catskill Encore College is built on a simple belief: people are the world's greatest resource. The mountains are full of people with skill, judgment, craft, scholarship, service, and lived experience. We want to help turn that knowledge into classes.

What can become a class?

Almost any serious skill, story, craft, or body of knowledge can become a course.

You do not need to arrive with a polished syllabus. The college can help shape the format, pace, materials, and accessibility plan.

Hands and craft

Practical knowledge

Low-friction process

From idea to class in five steps.

The goal is to make teaching approachable without lowering standards. We help instructors shape clear, humane, accessible courses for adult learners.

  1. Share a rough topic or talent.
  2. Use the course builder to shape title, audience, and format.
  3. Submit a short proposal for review.
  4. Work with the curriculum team to refine the class.
  5. Publish the course and open registration.

Teach a lecture

A single 60-90 minute session is the easiest place to begin. It can later grow into a course.

Propose a Lecture

Teach a short course

Four to eight sessions for a topic that benefits from discussion, practice, and progression.

Propose a Course
